A Salt Lake native with a passion for advocacy, a proven record of experience in education, and action-oriented student-first focus to help students reach their academic and career goals.
Sarah will be a voice for our students and educators and help build a more inclusive, safe, and brighter future for our schools.
I want to be part of a better future for Utah, and the future of Utah are the students in our schools today. People often ask me why I stay working in higher education, and my answer is simple: the students. Students are my first priority.
Funding full-day kindergarten, increased teacher pay and teacher professional development resources, and increased technology opportunities in schools.
Update old HVAC systems, find ways to integrate environmental science studies in common core and healthy living programs in schools.
Strengthen the P-20 pipeline (preschool to higher ed) by partnering with Utah System of Higher Education and do early intervention and education in middle school and early high school to promote and encourage students to pursue higher education.
Fighting for: Justice, Equity, Inclusivity, and Equity through training and education to make our schools a more equitable place for ALL of our students.
Push back against battles over teaching history, race, sex education, and science and stop unnecessary book banning.
Fight against increased forced teacher transparency and stop legislation complicating and weighing down their responsibilities.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, local school boards, and legislators to do the necessary work to support our students.
Find and support grants that allow teachers to find new, innovative ways to teach their subjects that include technology, and provide resources for educators to integrate technology in their classrooms.
Pandemic, technology, added pressures– it is no surprise our students are facing a mental health crisis. I will focus on finding resources for our schools to support our students and their mental health needs.
Good work takes real commitment, and I understand what it takes to create meaningful change. All change–whether cultural, structural, or policy–takes time. Successful projects are informed by research and data, and include sustainable plans for the future – and most importantly, the thoughts and input of constituents.

Hi, I’m Sarah Reale.
I believe education is the most important institution our government manages. And from research I completed in graduate school on education policy, to navigating ways to provide access to higher education in my career, education has become my greatest passion.
Our schools are experiencing attacks by groups demanding unnecessary teacher transparency, criticizing educators for their inclusive measures to support ALL students, increased need for mental health support for our students, and a rise in teacher burnout.
I’m tired of our education system taking the burden of so many of our polarizing political hot topics. I’m tired the lack of trust in our educators. And I’m especially tired of this political theater taking away from what is most important: our students.
I want to be part of a better future of Utah, and that’s why I’m running for office.
I want to be a voice for our students and educators and I want to build a more inclusive, safe, and better future for our schools.
I bring almost two decades of experience in higher education with a focus on public relations, marketing and communications and ten years experience in the classroom teaching the fundamentals of US Government and Politics.
I will listen, communicate, support collaboration, and do my part to support our students, educators, parents, and schools. We can work together to support education in the state of Utah.
Join me.
